Art History
Museum

According to the international Times Magazine ranking, The Museum of Fine Arts in Vienna holds number seven and thus a higher score than for example the London National Gallery or the Louvre in Paris.

The museum offers an impressive and unique range of paintings and other eminent works of art from every era of western art history. The art gallery places particular emphasis on the historic development from the late Renaissance to the baroque era, containing works from many old masters such as Jan van Eyck, Titian, Peter Paul Rubens, Albrecht Dürer, Jan Vermeer, Diego Velazquez, Benvenuto Cellini, Caravaggio, and many more.

The stairwell is particularly beautiful and magnificent as it was constructed during the era of the Ringstraße. To this very day, the ceiling painting by Gustav Klimt knows how to leave guests stunned.

Besides the art gallery, the museum displays an Egyptian Exhibition and the Chamber of Art and Wonders, a cabinet of rarities and curiosities from the collections of the imperial family.
